When I found this chickadee platter at Home Goods in October, I had no idea how much I could fall in love with it. Since then, I have seen the teapot and plates on a few different blogs. The marking on the platter says Global Design Connections (Kate Williams). I hope it is still available if you are looking to add it to your collection!
The red polka dot plates were stored in our basement so I grabbed them for our chickadee table. They are so cheery, especially when we have so little sunshine this time of year.
The white dinner plates are from Oneida. We are lucky enough to have the Oneida outlet here in Central New York, and they have bargains. I think I paid $2.00 for the dinner plates last year, and they came with coordinating salad plates which I think were $1.50.
This snowman below is my favorite even though he's not so perfect. His carrot nose got broken a few years ago but a little glue made him whole again.
I just noticed that the red glass is reflected in the silverware. On the table is a photo album which I labeled "JOY", a gentle reminder to be joyful always.
If you missed my post on the Tweet Treats for the chickadees and cardinals, you will find the instructions here.
I'm joining the Cozy Home Party and Tablescape Thursday. Thank you for stopping by!

You know I just adore this - black and white and red make me so happy!!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy seeing the chickadees in the cold and snowy winter months -- flitting here and there. They seem so cheerful desite the weather conditions. Your table is equally cheerful :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
such a delightful table, Debby. Love the reds mixed with the black and white, and the platter is so pretty. Snowmen are just so jolly, by gosh by golly! laurie
ReplyDeleteLooks like red and white seem to be the colors of the week. Beautiful table, as always. Great platter for winter! The snowman is adorable.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the chickadee platter!!! I've looked online but could not find it...would you be willing to let me know where I could purchase it?

I bought some of those dishes and the matching salt and pepper shakers last year. They are adorable, aren't they? I never would have thought to put the cute polka dot dishes tne the winter snowman with them, but it all makes for a very festive winter look!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your tablescape on my "Your Cozy Home" party!
What a lovely table you have set. And what a lovely table you had to use! Is the base black and white checks or am I seeing a reflection?
ReplyDeleteHi, Debbie!!!! Zuni of Chickadee Home Nest will REALLY love this post! The pattern is really cool, and I wish I would have snapped the dishes up when I first saw them. Alas and alack, I did not! :-( I get the Dum-Dum of the Year award! I wish we still had an Oneida Outlet Store here in this area. We had one years ago, and I loved it! We also had a Mikasa Outlet which I sorely miss. There should be a law against them closing stores like that around here! :-) I hope you had a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI adore little chickadee's but hadn't seen them until a trip to Canada a few years ago...
ReplyDeletesince then I call both my children my little chickadee's.
The table looks very inviting...what time do you want me???? :D
Joyful indeed! Beautiful table!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table, Debbie! I love the red. and I love the reflection on the silverware, very pretty shot!
ReplyDeleteSUCH an appealing table, Debbie! The third photo, of the table set by the window made me wish I could join you and gaze out at the snow! I love the black and white checks, and they are perfect with your red accents.
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Heather! Please email me when you can, I have a question about your blog!

What a pretty table, Debbie! I've got to get to Home Goods to see if they still have any chickadee plates but I'm guessing not since I never saw them on other visits. Our Home Goods has gotten very disappointing the past year or two.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else in the world love RED, Black and White as much as you, Patti and I. ? :))
ReplyDeleteYour table is AWESOME, Debbie....
Very pretty, Debbie. I love those plates, so wintery.
ReplyDeleteThey opened. MC store right here in town. Tiny. Dont think they will have a clearance room like Villeroy and Boch used to here.
Still no snow at all here. Thanks for keeping it by you! :)
Hi Debbie, I am a bird lover so that platter made my heart skip a beat. Love, love it! Your entire table is so darn cute. Mr. Carrot nose is super cute! Visiting from Cozy Home Scenes. Now following you.

Debbie, those plates are something special. My mother was a huge bird watcher. I didn't see them at Home Goods or TJ's. I love all the color that makes the table so bright and fresh on a cold winter day. Of course I love the red glassware. Joni
ReplyDeleteLOVE the chickadee plate! Gorgeous table!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table!!! Mary at Home is Where the boat is, is giving away a set of the chicadee plates!!! LOOOOVE the platter and your selection of dishes is beautiful. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI like your checkered plates. Awesome table!
ReplyDeleteThursday Tablescape
Debbie~ Your table has a few of my favorite things that bring me joy...birds, black & white checks & snowmen! Love the accent of red from your stems :)
ReplyDeleteLove that chickadee platter. Your red glassware is just perfect! I bet you use it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful whimsical tablescape. Love your black and white check that you accented throughout.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tablescape. I love the red and black. Your table has a checked base?? Love that! I have the Chickadee plates and bowls, I bought them early from HomeGoods. Mine have a slightly bleachy/paint smell and I wrote the company and they said it must be our water here. None of my other dishes have that smell...do you notice anything with your platter? I love the dishes, but can't seem to get rid of the smell.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue! Our table base is a courtly check, black and white. Here is the link to the table if you would like to check it out. Thanks for stopping by!

Sue, I just went and sniffed the platter and there is no scent whatsoever.
DeleteIn case you missed it, the blogger at "Home Is Where the Boat Is" has a give-away in progress that involves pieces of this Chickadee china. Perhaps you could be the lucky winner and expand your collection Hope this is helpful. I thought your table was lovely. MM
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know! Cross your fingers and toes that I am the lucky winner ;o)
DeleteOh. my. word.
ReplyDeleteThat is the happiest table I have ever seen :) Love everything you used, so cheerful and fun! I'll check out the bird treats, too, we have a lot of hungry little ones around here.
